“Love yourself enough to live a healthy lifestyle” ~ Unknown
Happy Planksgiving! Guests at the Planksgiving Pilates Party on Saturday at Athleta UWS, benefitting City Harvest, had a BLAST enjoying healthy sips and bites, doing Pilates by Kristin McGee, and mingling with other fitness-minded friends! We all know that a healthy lifestyle starts from eating well! To bring the party to you, I’m posting about the event, starting with the Fit Bites! Take a look.
Apple Cider Bar
Guests warmed up for Planksgiving with some homemade apple cider! They had fun making it their own by adding their choice of add-ins from a bar selection- orange slices, pomegranate seeds, and cinnamon sticks. Apples are known to help lower the risk of cardiovascular disease, asthma, diabetes and some forms of cancer, if consumed regularly. Also, being antioxidants. apples protect you against some harmful environmental factors. More reasons to integrate apples into your regular diet, especially in fun ways like this simple apple cider bar!
Guests stayed hydrated throughout Kristin McGee’s perfectly planned Planksgiving Pilates Workout with ubr Water. I found the water especially clean tasting and refreshing, ideal for the invigorating workout we had.
Matcha Green Tea – Strawberry Lemonade
Sweat for Smilers cooled down post-workout with some refreshing and healthy Matcha Green Tea in Strawberry Lemonade flavor. Because matcha tastes earthy, it isn’t always everyone’s favorite. But Motion Matcha makes it taste great with fun flavors like this one, while still limiting the amount of added sugar. “Motion Matcha uses high quality Japanese matcha green tea powder, real fruit powders, natural flavors and the occasional touch of organic sweetness.”
Breakfast Bites by Gastronomie 491
The breakfast bites provided by Gastronomie 491 were delicious and the exact nutritious and satisfying fuel we needed to give us energy post-workout. A favorite was their Breakfast Bars which included the following ingredients: Oatmeal, Bananas, Brown Rice, Syrup, Golden Raisins, Dried Cranberries, Flaxseed, Wildflour Honey, and Cinnamon.
Here’s a similar but more simplified recipe you can try at home:
The 5 Ingredient Granola Bar
KIND Bars
Guests also nibbled on KIND Bars, courtesy of KIND, in the following flavors: Black Truffle Almond & Sea Salt and Cashew & Ginger Spice. Both were very unique and tasty and I can’t help but think how perfectly these bars would pair with vanilla and peach or blueberry yogurts, respectively.
I hope you find this post inspiring and helpful for integrating Fit Bites into your everyday routine. Have more Fit Bites ideas? Please share! Keep following for more Planksgiving posts, including the workout, style, and more about the important cause this party supports, City Harvest.
Cheers,
Ashley
