Style is a way to say who you are, without having to speak.

Fitness wear should make you feel fabulous. It should be as comfortable as it is stylish. It’s in the little details- the flare, the fabric, what makes it feel like YOU. You need to move freely through your workout, yet you want to be confident, and on trend, doing it.
According to Nick Harris, creator of HPE Activewear, what you wear to the gym actually does matter. “In the simplest terms, when you look good, you feel more confident. Investing in gym kit [outfit] which makes you feel the part, can help you to feel better in the gym, and truly conquer a workout. Nothing motivates you to go the gym more than a new kit [outfit].”
So what’s the best new fitness style for you? Sweat for Smiles has teamed up with style expert Nicole B Mazza of @wegotstyled, to give you the newest “Fitness Styles We ❤️” just in time for Valentines Day. Nicole is experienced in the world of fitness style. She is a former Developer & Fashion Forward editor at Inside Publications. She also worked as a National Executive at Bella + Canvas and Alo Yoga. Here’s what she has to say.
FIND YOUR FLARE: “For a while now, we’ve seen high fashion activewear. It’s the dramatic sleeves and tailored silhouettes for us. Take these Free People Movement style picks from studio to casual wear.”
MIX IT UP: “Heading into spring, classic hues like pure white will always be a personal go-to! For energetic surprises in athletic wear, incorporate pops of bright colors or soft pastels while pairing contrast colors together. We love these colorful, spring style picks from Free People Movement.”
HIGH FASHION & FEMININE TRENDS: “I was influenced to site shop the high fashion brand, Port de Bras. Their eye-catching premium styles definitely stand out at the gym. Also, have fun taking a peek at these feminine designs from IVL Collective (Nicole is wearing IVL here). Choosing high fashion / feminine styles this season will certainly turn your treadmill into a gym fashion runway. This is a new level of gym attire and I’m here for it!”
FABRIC QUALITY: “When it comes to working out, the main focus is feeling your best from the inside out. Fabric functionality in fitness wear is usually created with sports in mind. Since the rise of atheleisure, we will continue to see brands complement style with high performance fabrications and moisture-wicking properties.
Additionally, gym-to-business styles are trending for the wellness inspired. This concept is driven by influencers globally, and most clothing brands have included a category specifically designed to “fit” this lifestyle. These gym -to-business styles’ high quality of fabric is what makes them fit to be worn all day.”
Have more than one set of sneakers: Having multiple pairs of sneakers in your closet obviously gives you a higher variety of fashion choices. But more importantly, alternating your shoes between wears also elongates the life of the sneakers past the recommended replacement date of 6 months. Nike has some bright and colorful options. Bandier carries these black Nike’s with pops of neon – they are Ashley’s faves at the moment!
