POWER UP: 11/17/25

November 20, 2025 By Ashley Slaughter

An Empowering Workout + Panel Event Benefitting Homeless Youth

An evening of movement, mindfulness, and meaningful connection, POWER UP brought together a vibrant community ready to strengthen their bodies, elevate their mindset, and support a powerful cause – youth experiencing homelessness.

Guests were welcomed with nourishing sips and snacks upon arrival at The Pearl NYC for POWER UP, an energizing charity event benefitting Covenant House and hosted by Sweat for Smiles. After a lively round of mingling, attendees dove into a dynamic Strength and Conditioning workout led by Elizabeth Tretter—equal parts fun and fiercely challenging. The host, instructor and panelists are wearing the High Shine “Painted Leopard” activewear set by TEREZ.

Refueled and refreshed post-workout, guests transitioned into the lounge for the Power Up Panel, moderated by Sweat for Smiles founder Ashley Slaughter and featuring an inspiring lineup:
⭐️ Stacy Igel — Author of Embracing the Calm in the Chaos | Founder/CCO of Boy Meets Girl USA
⭐️ Penny Goffman — Founder of THATPENNY | CONNECT
⭐️ Natasha D’Anna — Award-winning Author & Creator

During the panel, we surprised attendees with a special giveaway of Stacy Igel’s new book, Embracing the Calm in the Chaos, and guests also received a 365 Daily Planner from Natasha D’Anna to help them stay motivated and organized throughout the year. The conversation delivered powerful insights on “powering up” our lives—celebrating our wins, nurturing a resilient mindset, cultivating authentic connections, and more. We closed the session by circling the room and discovering shared passions (including competitive swimming!) and previously unknown connections that further elevated the sense of community.

The event’s magical energy carried into the lobby, where guests enjoyed hot food courtesy of MadeMeals, protein-packed baked goods from Impact Kitchen, wine from FitVine Wine, and complimentary hair touch-ups from SWAIR. The atmosphere was so warm and joyful that many stayed long past the official end time, continuing to connect and celebrate within the Sweat for Smiles community.

Every guest also received a curated favor bag featuring the S.E.A. Waves of Support calm bracelet, along with luxe hair accessories from The Hair Edit, Brightening Skin Serum from BLISS, protein bars from Barebells, and additional wellness treats.

POWER UP not only strengthened bodies, but also uplifted spirits and sparked meaningful connections—all in support of youth experiencing homelessness. The evening embodied what Sweat for Smiles stands for: movement, mindfulness, and community coming together to make a positive impact.
