Hey, everybody! We all have our off days and we can’t always keep our motivation up throughout the day. I am providing you with some easy tips and exercises to help get you moving, and looking and feeling like your best self, no matter which side of the bed you wake up on.
No Snoozing
When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I want to do is hit the snooze button. DON’T make your choice of the day a lazy one! If you hit “Snooze” once, you’re more likely to keep hitting it. You’re going to have to get up and face the day anyway, so don’t put off the inevitable! It might not feel great at first, but you’ll be proud of yourself in the long run for getting a move on.
Kick Off Your Morning With A Stretch
If you’re like me, you probably feel like a zombie for a while after you get up. Do you want to know what helps clear my head and gets my body ready to move? It’s a morning stretch! If you just take a few minutes to wake up your body and clear your mind, you’ll feel much better about moving on with your day. Be sure to roll your neck around a bit and to lengthen your back as you breathe deeply. Hit both arms and legs to loosen everything up, then you should be good to go and get to work.
Energize with Water
Another surefire way to keep yourself feeling happy and healthy all day long is to drink A LOT of water. It’s the cheapest thing to order or bring with you when you’re on-the-go. Water is supposed to help keep your digestion on track and give you good clean energy to keep you going for the rest of the day. Yes, you are going to have to hit the bathroom a little more often, but the walk there will do you good, too!
Face Your “Problem Area”
A lot of us often have little problem areas on our bodies that stop us from being confident with the way we look. The best solution for this is to find a quick exercise that targets the area you want to work on. Maybe you feel like your arms need more definition. Master the push-up! If you feel like you need a tighter tummy, tone those abs with crunches, or reverse-crunches. No one has a perfect body, and that’s okay, but a little improvement here or there helps to make us feel more confident about the way we look.
Look Good, Feel Good
I’m sure many of you have heard the old saying “look good, feel good,” and it rings true in many ways. If you throw on a little bit of makeup (just whatever you’re comfortable with) and dress in a comfy but cute outfit (that’s suitable for whatever your plans are) and like what you see in the mirror, chances are you’re going to feel good about taking on whatever the day has in store for you. Putting on clothes the fit your body type and give you a good shape will keep you comfortable and looking your best until it’s time to put on pajamas.
Prioritize Sleep
And speaking of pajamas, a final tip on how to stay healthy and feel good: get a good amount of sleep! Sleep keeps our immune systems sharp and gives us the energy we’ll need to get through the next day.
- Immune System: When we don’t get enough sleep, it’s easier for us to get sick
- Metabolism: Lack of sleep can cause our metabolisms to slow down, which can lead to weight gain and lethargy.
- Mood: By making sure you get enough sleep tonight, you’re setting yourself up for a healthier and happier day tomorrow.
Hope this helps. If you start taking one step at a time towards looking and feeling like your best self, you’ll be there before you know it!
Best,
